“Justice League” actor Ray Fisher, former Aussie soap star Rhys Wakefield, “Fear the Walking Dead” alum Michael Greyeyes and acting veteran Jon Tenney have scored recurring roles in the third season of HBO’s “True Detective” which goes to air in 2019.
The quartet join the regulars for this season which include Mahershala Ali, Carmen Ejogo, Stephen Dorff, Scoot McNairy and Mamie Gummer. The story this time is set in the heart of the Ozarks wherein a disturbing crime occurs and a mystery that deepens over decades plays out in the three separate time periods.
Fisher will play the son of Ali’s Arkansas detective character. Nic Pizzolatto serves as the showrunner and will be the sole writer of the third season with the exception of the fourth episode which he co-wrote with “Deadwood” creator David Milch. Jeremy Saulnier and Pizzolatto will helm.
