Doom Patrol
April Bowlby (“Drop Dead Diva”), who plays Rita Farr (aka Elasti-Woman) in a guest-starring spot on “Titans,” will reprise the role as one of the leads of the follow-up live-action series “Doom Patrol” at the soon to launch streaming service DC Universe.

Rita adopts the moniker of Elasti-Woman after she was exposed to a toxic gas that altered her cellular structure. “Doom Patrol” received a 13-episode straight-to-series order in May and begins production this year for a 2019 premiere on DC Universe. [Source: Deadline]

Duncan Jones
“Moon,” “Warcraft” and “Mute” director Duncan Jones has teased that his next film is set to be a comic book adaptation, but won’t go into any further details for a few more days.

He said on Twitter earlier today: “A little nervous about this, but hell, nervous is where the fun is! I’m going to be making a comic book movie next! A pretty special one. That’s the initial tease…Second tease to come in a few days.” Further reports confirm it will NOT be any of the upcoming DC Films. [Source: Twitter

Dirty John
Juno Temple and Julia Garner have joined the cast of the upcoming Bravo scripted anthology series “Dirty John” which received a two-season order in January.

The story follows a charismatic con man, John Meehan (Eric Bana), and the consequences of an ill-fated romance. Connie Britton will star as Debra Newell, the single mother who fell in love with Meehan. Temple and Garner will play Newell’s daughters while Jean Smart is also onboard as Newell’s mother. Three Wishes
EveryWhere Studios has optioned the rights to “Big Little Lies” author Liane Moriarty’s “Three Wishes” with plans for a Netflix series adaptation by “Younger” writer Lila Feinberg. Moriarty, Tom Mazza and David Calvert-Jones executive produce and filming aims to begin in 2019.

The story follows three wildly different sisters as their lives intertwine and unfold around their glamorous Manhattan wedding weekend that ends in a shocking tragedy. When a scandalous secret emerges, the tight-knit bond among the sisters is tested as they unravel a mystery that ripples throughout each of their lives. [Source: Deadline]

Sweetbitter
Starz has renewed its half-hour drama series “Sweetbitter” for a second season. The show will be based on the book of the same name by Stephanie Danler and follows a 22-year-old woman (Ella Purnell) who, shortly after arriving in New York, lands a job at a celebrated downtown restaurant. Tom Sturridge, Caitlin FitzGerald, Evan Jonigkeit, Eden Epstein, Jasmine Mathews, Daniyar, and Paul Sparks co-starred. [Source: Variety]
