Phasma’s New Fate In “Last Jedi” Cut Scene

Movie News

A newly released deleted scene from “Star Wars: The Last Jedi” has been dropped during the most recent episode of “The Star Wars Show” and gives us a look at an alternate fate for Gwendoline Christie‘s Captain Phasma.

Phasma, once again short-changed for time in the recent film, actually gets a proper scene here which starts at the 1min 37 second mark in the video below and shows off a different fate for the character. The result is better than what ended up in the final film and gives her and Finn a proper confrontation.

As it’s a cut scene some of the special effects are still rough though, and its not clear why Johnson cut the scene. Actress Gwendoline Christie has previously indicated she’d like to come back somehow as she’s “very invested in the character now…and that’s genuine. That’s not just chat.”

Star Wars: The Last Jedi” will be available digitally in HD and 4K Ultra HD on March 13th and on 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray and Blu-ray disc March 27.
