The NBC development department has been busy it would seem with three new series in the works, all involving some pretty high profile producing talent.

21 Jump Street” and “The LEGO Movie” helmers Phil Lord and Chris Miller are set to executive produce the single-camera comedy project “Business as Usual” which has a script commitment with a penalty attached. The story follows everyday employees at a company in crisis, trying to keep their jobs and maintain their relationships as their workplace goes insane.

Next up, “The Big Bang Theory” star Jim Parsons is set to executive produce “The Inn Crowd,” a multi-camera comedy from “Young & Hungry” creator David Holden. Inspired by a Tony Horwitz New Yorker article, the story centers around a gay couple who divide a small rural Virginia town when they open a very successful inn.

Then there’s NBA legend LeBron James who will team with Elizabeth Banks to executive produce the one-hour drama series “Hoops” which Jennifer Cecil (“Notorious”) will serve as showrunner on. The series follows a star WNBA player who jumps at the chance to return to her alma mater to become the first female head coach of a men’s college basketball team. At the same time, the school she loves is embroiled in a sex scandal involving her mentor, a legendary former coach.

That LeBron James is one of two TV series projects announced today with the other being The CW’s “Lean on Me,” a female-led hourlong drama inspired by the 1989 film that starred Morgan Freeman. Wendy Calhoun (“Station 19”) serves as writer and musician John Legend will also produce.
