General Leia To Appear In “Resistance”

TV-Shows News

While Disney’s upcoming animated series “Star Wars: Resistance” will mostly focus on new faces to the franchise, at least three characters (and their respective actors) from the modern trilogy have been confirmed to be involved – Poe Dameron (Oscar Isaac), Captain Phasma (Gwendoline Christie), and BB-8.

In the wake of the debut of the show’s trailer the other day, Toonado now confirms that General Leia Organa will also make an appearance in the series with actress Rachel Butera (“Tammy’s Tiny Tea Time”) taking on the voice role of the character from the late Carrie Fisher. Butera writes on Twitter:

“I can finally announce that I have the incomprehensible honor of voicing the role of Leia Organa in the new Star Wars Resistance out this October. Thank you ⁦@CESDTalent⁩ ⁦@DisneyLucasfilm⁩ @sternshow + Carrie Fisher.”

“Star Wars: Resistance” is set between ‘Return of the Jedi’ and ‘The Force Awakens’ and follows Kazudo Xiono, a young pilot recruited by the Resistance to infiltrate and spy on The First Order.
