A24 has released the first cast photo from “Moonbase 8,” the upcoming six-episode original comedy series which marks the boutique film distributor’s second independently financed television series after “Comrade Detective”.

John C. Reilly, Fred Armisen and Tim Heidecker star as three subpar astronauts living in NASA’s Moon Base Simulator in the desert with high hopes of being the next chosen to travel through to the moon.

The three stars and “Portlandia” co-creator Jonathan Krisel came up with the series with Krisel set to direct. All four will executive produce alongside Dave Kneebone. No air date or attached network has yet been announced.
