Charlize Theron To Play Megyn Kelly

Movie News

Charlize Theron is set to play former lawyer turned Fox News anchor Megyn Kelly in an untitled ensemble drama feature about disgraced Fox News chairman Roger Ailes for Annapurna.

Ailes ran Fox News and helped launch the careers of Kelly, Sean Hannity and Gretchen Carlson with his powerful channel along with being a prominent figure in Republican circles.

He was forced to resign in 2016 when a host of accusations of sexual misconduct surfaced, with Carlson and Kelly’s the most high-profile. Fox News reportedly tried to pressure Kelly to come out in support of Ailes, but she refused.

Greta Van Susteren, Rupert Murdoch and Bill O’Reilly are likely to pop up as characters in the film. Jay Roach (“Game Change”) will helm the project and produce alongside Theron, Beth Kono, Charles Randolph, Margaret Riley and AJ Dix. Randolph, who wrote “The Big Short,” penned the script.
